Dr. Prashant G. Mehta is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He recieved his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University in 2004. Prior to UIUC, Dr. Mehta was a 'Research Engineer' at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC)
His research interests are at the intersection of dynamical systems and control theory, including fundamental limitations in nonlinear control, model reduction of Markov chains, phase transition and learning in large population games.
He received the 'Outstanding Achievement Award' at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) for his contributions to modeling and control of combustion instabilities in jet-engines. I’m a fourth year Ph.D. student at the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering,University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My advisor is Prof. Prashant Mehta. Before I came to the United States, I received my B.E. Degree with high honor (2009) at the Department of Automation from Tsinghua University, China. I received my M.S. degree in Mathematics from U of Illinois at 2012.
